Occupying a total area of 238 square km, the Vilsandi National Park spans across the sea for about 163 square km, including 160 islets and islands. The Matsula National Park, Soomaa ("Land of Bogs") National Park and the Karula National Park also comprise similar terrain.

Baltic Islands, around 1,500 in number, fall under Estonian territory. Of these Saaremaa and Hiiumaa are the two of the biggest islands. They are reachable from Estonia's western coast. The small west-coast resort town of Haapsalu, with houses made from wood and avenues lined with trees, is an ideal location to relax and unwind.
